MacMillan Big Coffee Morning 2018

October 15th, 2018

The blue skies and sunshine on Friday 29th September made a beautiful backdrop for the Big Coffee Morning held at St. Monica’s House.

With home-made cakes by Residents, Staff and Committee Members along with lots of cups of tea and coffee, everyone had a wonderful time raising money for MacMillan.  Along with the delicious treats a raffle and competitions with lots of prizes made the event a lot of fun.

All the home-made bakes were entered into a “Bake-Off” vote with the chocolate Hedgehog cake baker winning the title of Star Baker.

Residents’ Halloween Party

December 3rd, 2014

All of the residents and staff of St. Monica’s House got into the spooky spirits of Halloween with a trick or treating party.

Staff and Residents wore spooky costumes and witches hats, although for our junior residents  it was their first Halloween and they all looked adorable in their costumes.

Easter and 20 years of St Monica’s House

May 23rd, 2014

April 23rd 2014 was the 20th birthday for St. Monica’s House.  It is hard to believe that our small residents are now adults – where on earth has the time gone !!

To celebrate this fabulous milestone and to celebrate Easter, the residents of St. Monica’s House held a lovely tea party.  As you will see from the photographs, they had a delicious spread of sandwiches, crisps and cakes and a very lovely Easter Bunny (also known as Senior Support Worker, Diane Pitman) arrived with Easter treats for our junior residents.  We even had a couple of small Easter Bunnies enjoy the party.

Thank you to our residents for allowing the photos to be shared.

St. Monica’s House Open Day

June 10th, 2013

Thankfully after a few dreadful days of wind and rain, the sun was shining down on us, making our Open Day a glorious one.

The Open Day gave us the opportunity to not only promote the work of our Association but also to show off the amazing transformation of St. Monica’s House.

Thank you to everyone to came along, especially our special guest the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Frank Jonas.

Redevelopment of St. Monica’s House – Conservatory

March 11th, 2013

The residents of St. Monica’s House are now able to use the new conservatory as their Dining Room.  Leading off directly from the kitchen, the residents can now enjoy their meals whist in the the bright and airy conservatory.

During these cold months, storage heaters will provide the heat but during the summer, the doors can be opened leading to decking and allowing the residents to eat `al fresco’.
