Looking for Volunteer Committee Members

January 29th, 2014 No comments »

Can you spare two hours a month to help homeless families in Portsmouth?

We are looking for volunteer Committee Members to help develop our work providing housing, care and support.

We are looking for new members to serve on the Management Committee, especially people with experience in providing care services or in handling finances and a compassion towards the homeless.

The members of our Management Committee bring a variety of skills and professional experience to the task of governing the Association, overseeing its work and ensuring that it provides good quality services.

If this appeals to you and you’d like to know more, please contact

Thankfully after a few dreadful days of wind and rain, the sun was shining down on us, making our Open Day a glorious one.

The Open Day gave us the opportunity to not only promote the work of our Association but also to show off the amazing transformation of St. Monica’s House.

Thank you to everyone to came along, especially our special guest the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth Frank Jonas.

Redevelopment of St. Monica’s House – Conservatory

March 11th, 2013 No comments »

The residents of St. Monica’s House are now able to use the new conservatory as their Dining Room.  Leading off directly from the kitchen, the residents can now enjoy their meals whist in the the bright and airy conservatory.

During these cold months, storage heaters will provide the heat but during the summer, the doors can be opened leading to decking and allowing the residents to eat `al fresco’.

Redevelopment of St. Monica’s House

February 20th, 2013 No comments »

Fantastic things have been happening at St. Monica’s House.  Just before Christmas 2012 a brand new kitchen was built with a large “island” which will be used for cooking lessons.  New interview rooms have been made so that clients can have privacy whilst working with their Key Workers.

The New Year has also been busy with a large conservatory being built.  Accessed via the kitchen, the conservartory is a fabulous dining room, which is lovely and warm in the Winter and during the Summer the large conservatory doors can be opened for an Al Fresco style of eating.

The client’s bedrooms have also being given a face-lift, with new wardrobes, chest of drawers and new flooring to give the rooms a new modern but comfortable look.
